Volunteers

Thank you for your interest in volunteering as an usher for the Virginia Theatre Festival! Each year, our dedicated volunteers donate their time during VTF’s summer season to help us prep our lobby and welcome our patrons to our shows. During their shifts, ushers typically scan tickets, help patrons to their seats, hand out playbills, and support concession sales. We could not do what we do each year without our volunteers’ energetic help and continued support.

Age: The minimum age to volunteer is 18.

Training: All volunteer ushers are expected to attend a training session held prior to their first shift, date and time TBD.

Shift Length: A single shift for a volunteer usher will be approximately 4 hours to 4.5 hours long.

Commitment: Volunteer ushers must be able to work at least 2 shifts per season.

For those who have volunteered before, you will need to complete a volunteer interest form every year.

All VTF volunteers will receive the following:

• Free parking during their shift
• And volunteers can watch the performance that they are assigned to work for free!
