Seating and Accessibility

All Virginia Theatre Festival performances take place in the UVA Department of Drama’s state-of-the-art theatre complex. This season will utilize the 520-seat Culbreth Theatre with proscenium stage and the black box Helms Theatre with a 136-seat thrust configuration. Both theatres are handicap accessible. To reserve handicap or mobility seating, please order your tickets over the phone or in person to ensure the best seating option.

Our theatres are all equipped with hearing loop technology. Hearing aid and cochlear implant users should switch their devices to the t-coil setting when the show begins. For those who would like to access sound from the hearing loop system, but do not have a hearing device or whose hearing device does not have a telecoil, hearing loop receivers are available to borrow from the Concessions Stand.
