John Kelly

John Kelly is a Charlottesville-based freelance publicist and writer who has worked with the Virginia Theatre Festival since 2005. He plays a key role on the marketing team, creating messaging around the organization and each production, handling all media outreach, assisting with advertising and marketing effort and handling all media inquiries. John has also worked with the Virginia Film Festival since 2005 and has worked in the film industry as a Unit Publicist for productions including Killing Kennedy and The Long Road Home on National Geographic Channel and Mercy Street on PBS. John’s career in the arts has included working with Long Wharf Theatre, Lincoln Center and The Big Apple Circus, among others. He is also an accomplished writer who writes regularly for the UVA Arts Magazine and Virginia Sportsman, where he serves as Managing Editor.
