Michael Giovinco serves as the Operations and Production Manager for the Department of Drama and as the Production Manager of the Virginia Theatre Festival. He received his BA from the University of Virginia where he studied Drama and Cognitive Science. In his time at the University, Mike was a proud Miller Arts Scholar for Drama. Since graduating, he has spent time working at Walt Disney World’s Animal Kingdom and Resorts as a theatre technician and trainer, touring the country with Feld Entertainment’s Sesame Street Live! Make Your Magic as a Head of Lighting and later as a Production Stage Manager, and working at the Richmond Ballet, the Sharon L. Morse Performing Arts Center, the Studio Theatre at Tierra Del Sol, Pig Iron Theatre Company, Circus Smirkus, Heritrage Theatre Festival, and more. Mike also works with a local non-profit called Bennett’s Village as a Volunteer Coordinator as they work towards their mission of bringing an all-abilities playground to Charlottesville. Mike enjoys ice cream, dinosaurs, circus arts, storytelling, and supporting artists in their craft.
